Monumental Arch of Palmyra (Interactive 3D Experience)

The Arch of Triumph was a Roman ornamental archway in Palmyra, Syria. Built in the 3rd century during the reign of emperor Septimius Severus, its ruins later became one of the main attractions of Palmyra until it was destroyed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in October 2015. The Arch was completely created from crowd source photos, and the environment was reconstructed from viewing images of the site. This is an ongoing project that will improve with time and more donated imagery of the site to Arc/k Project. Read the feature blog post in Affiliated Institutions Links to learn more.
